I have had these fabric covered book boxes for years. They are tired and no longer go with anything in our house – that green was my accent color in my first house – yikes! So, I finally decided to part with them and put them aside to bring to the dump later on this week. And then I thought, what if I covered them? What if I covered them with my leftover cane?

I first wrapped them (like a present) with some fabric I had on hand using my favorite tool – the hot glue gun! I then sprayed the fabric with adhesive and pressed the cane onto the book box and then trimmed the edges.
A little over 45 minutes later, I have two refreshed book boxes that I can use anywhere in my house for some added texture. They’d look great in a glass cabinet, on a console table or a night stand! Not too bad for a $0 DIY!

Head on over to IG, flynnhaus, for some behind the scenes on making these!
