I’m not one that sets or for that matter sticks to resolutions but this year I am determined to make a change. I figured setting goals would help set my intention for the year and keep me accountable in 2021.
Health & welness
For 20 months my health & wellness have taken a back seat. Entering my third pregnancy I was the healthiest mentally and physically than I had ever been in my life and then I gave birth and postpartum depression hit me like a freight train. As I was recovering and climbing out of that stage we then entered a pandemic and well the wheels fell off and here we are. Determined to make a change in 2021 I have committed to focusing on my health and wellness. I’m in the last year of my thirties and forty is a year away! I want to enter that chapter feeling healthy and need to prioritize diet, exercise, and mental health. That seems so lofty and for that matter unattainable so I’ve come up with daily tasks that will help achieve this goal. Tracking food, upping the water intake, committing to a daily walk/exercise, in bed by 11 pm are some pretty easy changes I can make every day in order to gain control of my health.
Be present
I need to prioritize engaging with friends and family on a more consistent and meaningful basis. The pandemic has been hard but FaceTime and Zoom are wonderful tools. Turn off the TV and be present with my spouse. Stop saying “no” to every request the kids have and engage. Have fun. Stop missing out on life and start being present.
challenge & grow
This year I will challenge myself and learn how to build by focusing on skills that I often rely on Ryan for. I will master operating the air compressor for the brad nailer and have confidence that I can start and complete a project by myself. I might fail at some but that is the best way to learn. Be okay in that, and grow.
2021, the year of me!
