Some years it’s store bought valentines, others it’s scrambling the night before searching Pinterest for a free download only to be screwed by the low ink in your printer. But not this year! This year I am on top if it, shockingly.
My girls asked to make their own Valentine’s Day cards BUT they had to include a gift. Why do you ask? Well according to my 5 & 8-year-old, “because that’s what everyone does, MOM! And it can’t be a pencil, we did that last year.”
Thankfully Target exists and after a quick search landed on key chains and pinballs for their gifts. The rest we would DIY.
non-candy classroom valentine’s Day Cards
Supplies:
- Key chains and or pinballs
- Key chain and or pinball Valentine printout
- Construction Paper (assorted colors)
- Glue Stick
- Scissors
- Washi Tape
- Pencil
DIRECTIONS:
First, download the key chain and or the pinball Valentine message and print.
Next, cut the Valentine message out and set it aside. Then cut a slightly larger square out of construction paper, making sure to create a border and set it aside.
**My kiddos helped with cutting but if you’re looking to expedite I would precut everything and then have the kids assemble.**
Assembly time!
Have your child fill out “from x” in the blank rectangle. Then glue the Valentine message to construction paper. Flip over and on the back, using Washi tape, secure the key chain or pinball to the Valentine.
There you have it, semi homemade DIY classroom Valentine!
