It’s finally here, happy reveal day, and welcome to Week Eight of the One Room Challenge! This was my first year participating in this event and boy am I glad I took the plunge. The support and encouragement from this community made me feel connected to the world during such an isolating time so, to have a room completely done at the end of it is just icing on the cake!
If you want a refresh then you can start at the beginning of this journey:
Week One, Week Two, Week Three, Week Four, Week Five + Six, Week Seven

I stripped and stained. Sewed and hacked. Built and hung all during the past seven weeks. I struggled with some (looking at you vintage dresser and wallpaper) and triumphed over others (hacking an IKEA wardrobe and building a radiator cover). During it all, I constantly pushed myself to meet my commitment so that our baby girl would have a nursery she so lovingly deserves. Her room is bright and sweet, just like her.

This vintage dresser turned out to be the biggest surprise of them all. If you followed along on IG stories then you realize the pain and heartache this dresser caused. I aimed for white oak but misstep after misstep and it ended in a weathered gray finish, which totally bummed me out. Everything happens for a reason because it turns out to be the perfect color after all. And the hardware ain’t bad either…

The star of the show is the feature wallpaper behind the crib. It brings me so much joy and happiness even though it was an exercise in patience. 100+ year old houses are not plumb but I persevered and boy is it great! Just don’t look too close!

A last minute decision to whitewash the cane on the wardrobe and paint the back of the door helped bring the design all together.

How wonderful! I especially love the wallpaper and all the other touches you included to bring it all together. What a lucky girl!
